Ozarks Technical College
Allied Health Simulation Center
Simulating an experience, such as how to react in an emergency room or in a birthing room, can help students prepare for such an environment. Ozark Technical College’s Allied Health division has taken this practice to heart.
The OTC’s Allied Health Simulation Center incorporates eight high-fidelity manikins, including four adult simulators, which helps OTC’s nearly 650 students enrolled in the Allied Health programs to train and learn in a simulated, high stressful environment.
The infill suite also includes an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facility, a full birthing suite, a residential suite staged as a living room, along with a medical-surgical suite. Three suites have adjacent observation rooms with controlling systems for the manikins operated by the instructor with one-way glass allowing the instructor full control of the simulation.
